The Covid scares in our home - and there will be more!
Hello everybody,
I hope that when you read this post, you are keeping safe and healthy. Remember to wash your hands, not touch your face, only go places that are necessary and wear a face mask. Warm weather or not, Covid-19 is still out there and we need to do whatever we can to stop it from spreading.
Yes, with a husband that works in healthcare, you bet we have had Covid scares. In fact, at this very moment, my husband is quarantining in the basement as he awaits for his tests results. It is his second time waiting for test results. I have slowly had to accept that it won't be the last.
The first time was probably the scariest because he was actually feeling quite ill - it turned out it was food poisoning. This time, he had a sore throat but as the day progressed and after getting tested, he was back to normal. Yet, you can't take a chance because he has surgeries coming up and you just need to be responsible. I even called the dentist - as I only learned of this after I came back from the dentist.
You can only realize the rippling effect it creates, when you go through it. You begin to see how many people may have been affected by it. We are hoping for negative results, but did give some thought as to what would take place should he test positive.
In the event that he does have Covid, it affects all of us in the house, including our nanny. It then ripples to all of his co-workers, patients, our nanny's husband, his co-workers and anyone with whom we have been in contact with in the last few days - neighbors and all... That is such a daunting thought to think about...
As I am writing this post, I can't help but think of those that have died from this horrific virus. I think of the spouses that could not be there when their spouses were dying. I think of the parents who have lost a child (whether young or old). And I think of all those that had to watch their loved ones be buried in these mass graves. I also think of all the healthcare workers who treated these patients. They must have seen so much devastation, sadness and anger. And those on the frontlines even lost their lives to help others stay alive... over four hundred thousand have died - and there will be many more.
I am not wanting to instill fear in you, but Covid-19 needs to be taken seriously. It's also easily preventable - washing your hands, not touching your face and wearing a face mask. These are simple steps that we should all be taking. You can't go around thinking that is is over - it is not and with Fall approaching together with flu season - it can be a deadly mix. We have a social responsibility with others things why not with our health?
We should know by the end of the day what my husband's results are - I pray they will be negative. If you are currently waiting results, I am keeping you in prayer. If you or someone you know is sick, you have many praying for you. We can only be in this together if we all do what we need to do to keep this from spreading.
Let us not spread Covid-19 but let's spread kindness and mercy. Until my next post, please keep safe.
