Quarantine and Anxiety - Sleeping issues
Hello everyone,
I hope that when you read this post, you are all safe and healthy. Remember to wash your hands and do not touch your face. If you are sick or someone you know is, know you are being prayed for.
How are you sleeping? How is your sleep? Are you taking more naps? Are you able to fall asleep? When you do, do you wake up feeling rested??? You are tired, but you can't fall asleep...sound familiar???
Let's be honest, this quarantine is wearing us all down. There are only so many shows you can binge watch, so much cleaning and decluttering, so much books to read, walks to take... it is getting hard.
I have been quarantined for over a month and a half and as much as love my home, I am getting more and more restless... it's been hard to just not be able to go out and go into a store and buy things, try on things... it's been hard to not see friends ... it's been especially more difficult to not be able to have our families come and and meet our son.
At first, it was nice to just be home and have my husband with us, all the time. But then, it got to be more real when the number of cases started to rise more and more. Then, the number of deaths continued to rise and so many sad stories started to come out. I began to fear that I would have to say goodbye to our families via video. My husband and I started to talk about funeral arrangements should one of us pass away from this virus.
Now, it just feels like it will not end, unless a vaccine is made available and we all know that those take months!! So, please don't believe news about a possible vaccine before the end of the year - it will take far longer to know if the vaccine is effective. I just wish people would stop posting about a vaccine coming soon. It is just giving false hope to us all. The vaccine will come out but when it is done and ready to be given to us all.
Sleep...you would think that not having to go to work would give you more rest? I mean, you can literally take a nap anytime you want. You can sleep in because you don't need to be at the office at a certain time. Yet, for the past few weeks, my sleep has sucked!!
I am tired. We have three small children and although we have help, our days go by in a flash!!! Yet, when I get in my bed, I am just unable to fall asleep and then, I do the worst thing: I take my phone and I browse, play games or watch the news or YouTube. There were nights when I would plug in my headphones and then, I would listen to music or whatever show I could on YouTube...I thought it would make me fall asleep, but NOPE.
Things will better when we are able to go about our somewhat regular routine. Until then, I am going to try to maintain somewhat of a routine when it comes to sleeping. I usually wash my face to remove my makeup, put on my pajamas and then cream my hands and feet - makes me feel a bit luxurious. I try not wake up early - but when I am unable to, our youngest little one (not even two months olds) takes care of that for me.
What about you? How is your sleep?? Let's share our best and worst nights of sleep and build our community.
Until my next post, keep safe and healthy. Wash your hands, don't touch your face and help stop the spread of Covid-19.
