Coffee and a good book - real treat!
Hello everyone,
I hope that this post finds you all safe and healthy. Remember to keep safe when you leave the house by washing your hands and not touching your face. Respect social distancing and stop the spread of Covid-19.
One more thing - spreading kindness and respect to others is always encouraged. Be kind, be merciful and help others.
In the midst of this pandemic, I have thought about what I really miss. It turns out that I missed having warm coffee while reading a book - without interruptions. I know that I can have this at home, it just takes a little more planning. While before, I could just pick up and go. And so, coffee and a good book are my topic of today.
How can these two things be such a great combination? They are because one just complements the other so well. The coffee helps me to keep awake and tastes so good - even if my husband makes a good Latte, I sure miss the Lattes at Starbucks... and the book just transports me to whatever I am reading about. Whether it be fiction, non fiction or self-help, a good book with a good cup of coffee is just a treat.
I have loved books since I was a little girl. I remember a book fair at my Elementary school and when my father came to pick me up, I asked if he could buy some books. I knew better than to ask because money was tight. To my surprise, he said YES... I was careful not to buy too many, but I remember they lasted me a few years - until my little sister got a hold of them :)
When I got to High School, I would have to wait for my father to pick me up because we lived far. I would mostly be alone and I would stay in the library and just read books. I loved it and would take so many home to read. I remember being in my bed and just spending nights reading books. I read a variety of books and just loved them all.
This love of reading continued during College and University. I would read on my way home and just loved reading a fresh book. That smell of opening a book never gets too old...such a great feeling! Mix that smell with coffee and I am just happy as a clam!
And so, with this pandemic, I am unable to go to Starbucks and sit there and read - so, I am trying to get the same experience at home. So far, I have been unable. I can only get warm coffee in the morning - right before our little one wakes up for his bottle and I can only read at night before going to sleep... but hey, I can at least, have them both in the same day, just not yet at the same time. That is better than nothing.
What are the two things that make you happy or make you feel cozy and comfy? Please share and let's build our community.
Until my next post, keep safe and stop the spread of Covid-19 but never the spread of kindness.
