Quarantine and Anxiety - FAKE NEWS
Hello everyone,
I trust that when you read this post, you are healthy and safe as well as your families. Please remember to wash your hands and don't touch your face. I know that I am starting to sound like a broken record, but these are crucial times and if we each do our part, this virus will stop spreading.
I wanted to touch base on the topic of fake news. I just received a Messenger text from a family member and I was annoyed at the message. It was a fake news report that mentioned that Coronavirus (which by the way was not spelled correctly) was a bio-attack from China. It also said that steam could kill the virus... 😡😡😡😡😩😩😩😒😒😒
I wrote back that this was fake news and that it should not be trusted. Then, I started thinking that this was probably shared with many and now, there is all this misinformation that is being circulating. This is how this virus wins because there are idiots out there who are spreading the wrong information.
Things like this infuriate me because people are gullible and they will believe these sorts of things and then, they get infected because of what they read... and this is no time to share such lies.
If you are going to share things about this virus, please stick to the facts and only share from RELIABLE sources. The CDC website is probably your best ally when it comes to the latest information. Do not start spreading false news or information. You could be putting people at risk. Don't be that person!!
Once again, let's be smart about this situation and rely only on the facts and not instill fear or spread misinformation about this virus.
Let's keep united by staying at home and following orders from our local governments. Don't see this as a way for the government to infringe on your rights. This needs to be done so less people get infected and people don't die!!
Be smart, be safe, WASH your hands and DO NOT touch your face.
